Codicil to the MySpace story
A few days ago I told you about US presidential hopefuls going on MySpace. Now it turns out that John McCain should have paid a bit more attention to good online manners. Whoever set up his MySpace page nicked Mike D‘s template wholesale, without crediting it, including hotlinking to images on Mike’s server.
Mike decided that nicking the template was one thing, but stealing his bandwidth was another, so he changed the image. To one announcing McCain’s support for gay marriage. Thereby managing to change McCain’s page without doing anything but changing his own image on his own server. It’s ‘the immaculate hack’.
Let this be a lesson to politicians who want to be down with the kids…
