Listening to Home Office Minister Tony McNulty on BBC Radio Five last night I was inspired to create this short quiz.

The Minister was on to explain the reasons for wanting to increase from 28 days the time the police are able to detain a suspect without charge.

When asked about how such a measure might be received by the Muslim community he said that

"after the right consultation, I’m sure they will understand that it is the right step to take."

(some slight paraphrasing has probably been used)

Call me old fashioned, but I’ve always bought into the Audit Commission definition of consultation (answer one) that consultation is about a dialogue leading to a decision.  I think Tony McNulty would have answered 3 in our little quiz.
